Tampa DUI Lawyer Helps Reduce Sentences, Community Services for First Offenders

Tampa DUI lawyerA Tampa DUI lawyer could help someone who has been convicted of drinking under the influence of alcohol or driving while doing drugs by asking the court or judge for a reduced sentence, especially if the individual has never been caught before.

Some of the penalties a judge could impose on a person before them that has been charged with a DUI might include having them do several hours of community service or speaking to young adults about the dangers of drinking and driving. A judge could also require an individual to a rehabilitation center for detoxification and to clean up their act. If a person refuses the judge’s orders, they would be in contempt of court and would serve jail time.
