When traveling to a family-friendly destination where the sand, sun and surf are all part of the package deal, be sure to pack each family a brightly colored beach towel in their carry-on luggage because beach towels serve numerous purposes other than drying off water drenched swimmers.

Matching bright red beach towels for every member of the family is a great idea for many reasons. For example on a crowded beach, no one will get lost because the brightly colored red beach towels will be able to be seen from a long distance away and everyone in your family or party will know that is where they belong.

By packing the matching brightly colored beach towels in every person’s carry-on bag, they can double as blankets when the plane gets chilly; pillows when a person wants to sleep on the plane or in an airport while waiting for their plane to take off or even as seat cushions at the airport because some of those seats can be very difficult to sit on for long periods of time.  Upon arrival at your destination, if the hotel is not ready, which is often the case; you and your family can head directly to the pool or ocean to begin your family fun instead of waiting around in a hotel lobby.

Today there are brightly colored beach towels that are made into games so people can entertain themselves while they lay on the beach. Some of the red beach towels are printed out as checker boards so people can play checkers under the warm sun or the shade of an umbrella.  There is also a larger sized beach towel known as a beach blanket that resembles a Twister Game with the brightly colored spots people place their feet, hands and elbows on and try not to fall down.

Countless people use their brightly colored beach towels at yoga or Pilates classes because many are made from thick, soft terry cloth materials and provide more cushion than a flat mat.
