Success of Residential Real Estate on the Up Rise According To Tampa Bay Realtor

Tampa houses for saleAccording to a Tampa Bay realtor, ‘you are only as successful in real estate as the effort you put into it.’  The current real estate market is not as bad as it’s made out to be in the media.  The ‘big struggle’ across the country, in communities big and small, is that appraisals are coming in too low which is an over-all reaction to the sub-prime meltdown.

A changing market in Tampa houses for sale is bringing real estate agents back to residential real estate.  Home prices are down, distressed property is up and real estate agents across the country and real estate agents who enjoy a challenge are helping those people who need to sell their home or purchase a home.  Many people in the real estate business believe the market is on its way to stabilizing and not necessarily recovering.

Many people in the commercial real estate arena are helping their clients to find smaller spaces, for example going from a 15,000 square foot building to a 2,000 square foot space. Many of the real estate agencies are also cutting back by finding smaller office space, doubling up on the use of desks and allowing many people to work from home. This will save money on office equipment, space, utility bills and surplus office workers such as receptionists.

Real estate agents are also keeping busy with the large number of short sales – which is when an owner sells their property for less than they owe on the mortgage in order to avoid foreclosure and bad marks on their credit reports.

Lenders need to think outside the box and begin to look for new ways of disposing distressed properties.  Among the things lenders could do is to use brokers who specialize in real estate-owned (foreclosed) properties and sell these pools of properties to fund and groups of investors.

Another thing that real estate agents could do to bring in more clients is allow them more control by setting up their website so that they could sign paperwork online or search homes online.  Anything to help streamline the process will help bring in more customers.
