Society has always had a love/hate relationship with candles.  People love candles because of the way they smell, look and make them feel; however they hate the mess of dripping wax and the potential for fire damage.

Scented jar candles takes some of that hate of the mess away because all the drippings stay in the jar.  However there is still a possibility of a fire.

There are new advances in candles called smart candles or flameless candles in which they use LED lights to illuminate what looks like a real candle but there is no flame to burn and no wax to melt.  These flameless candles are made to look just as beautiful as the real wax candles.

Additionally, much of society has gone “green” and become environmentally conscious and are clamoring for candles that burn longer and safer than paraffin candles or real wax candles.  Soy candles burn longer and cleaner than regular wax or paraffin candles, therefore they are better for the environment.  Plus, all natural candles, which are made without additives, are also available in candle stores across the country.

Candles are the perfect gift for loved ones or friends, for holidays, for birthdays, as bridal gifts, as hostess gifts, going away gifts, housewarming gifts, get well gifts, friendship gifts and that just because gift to brighten someone’s day.  A lovely gift basket could be made with scented candles, body lotion, bath beads, perfume and chocolate to give to that special someone on Valentine’s Day or any other day of the year as a perfect pick me up or other special occasion gift.

In order to bring more customers to a candle company’s website and then ultimately to their real-world brick-and-mortar location if they have one, they need to market their company through search engine optimization or SEO.  This is the act of placing a keyword rich article on the candle company’s website in order to attract the three major search engines – Google, MSN and Yahoo!.  These search engine websites send out “feelers” in order to find the keywords or keyword phrases and then rank the website according to a special formula.  Keywords or keyword phrases are the words potential customers place in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they need or want.  Having a high ranking on the search engines is beneficial to a business because the majority of people who use search engines only look to the first one to five listings that come back on a search engine webpage.

There are many reasons to have candles around the house. In addition to lighting the way during a blackout, candles could add romance or help to de-stress a person through aromatherapy candles with scents of lavender and other essential oils.  Environmentally conscious people could choose soy candles which burn longer and cleaner.
